[Player and Coach Comments]
Shuto OKANIWA
"It hasn't been long since I became a JFA/J.League designated player, but I have been preparing to fit in as much as possible by communicating with various players."
I am grateful to the coach who let me start and for being able to fight at home.
(Determination for the next match after today's experience)
"Given the situation where I couldn't fully showcase my characteristics, such as my forward runs and work rate, there are various circumstances and the team's approach, but I want to communicate to maximize my strengths and challenge myself more like a university student."
(It was my first time playing in Tokyo since U-18, but how did I feel about it today?)
"I thought the intensity was significantly different, but I also have what I've built up over my four years in university, so I entered the match with the intention of showcasing that."
(Was I able to showcase my strengths?)
"In the first half, I was able to get involved with the forwards and deliver crosses, but the number of times was still low, and in the second half, there were fewer opportunities to move forward.
There is also the issue of whether I can go at the right timing, but I want to improve more on the communication aspect with the players around me from now on.
(What was said to the players before the match)
"I was told by players Mita and Abe that it is important to keep challenging ourselves like university students."
(The meaning of contributing to Tokyo's top team)
"There are situations where the team is not doing well, but I hope to be a presence that can give courage and vitality not only to the team but also to the fans and supporters as a source of energy."
(Kashif BANGNAGANDE was placed as the left side back, and regarding the fact that players from the academy played on both sides)
"We talked before the match about how we have nothing to lose, and that it is important to keep challenging ourselves and contribute to victory."
There were many things that didn't go well today, but I was conscious of challenging myself anyway.
Leandro
It was my first game in a while, so there were issues with my game sense, but I played to the best of my ability.
(Regarding the fact that many chances were created but not converted into goals)
"There were many chances, but in the end, we couldn't break through for a goal. I think not being able to finish was everything."
《Tokyo - Summary of the Press Conference with Director Kenta HASEGAWA》
"It's very disappointing to have lost at home, but I believe that only 90 minutes of the 180 minutes have passed."
We were able to create many scoring opportunities, so in the second match, I want to first score one goal.
(How would you rate today's attacking lineup?)
I think Leandro returned after a long time and played very well.
In addition to Leandro, we were able to create several scoring opportunities. I would like to give a certain evaluation, but it is also a fact that we couldn't finish in the end.
"I want to start training again to finish the second match in 90 minutes and move on to the next stage."
(What is your evaluation of Okaniwa?)
"He showed his strengths very well until he tired and his activity level dropped at the end."
They showed dynamic play in both offense and defense, so I want to continue to have high expectations.
(What was the reason for using player Okaniwa?)
"Considering this series of matches, I thought he would be a valuable asset and used him in the first match.
I think they did well despite having little time to play together as a team. I believe that if he continues to showcase his strengths and those around him understand that, he will contribute even greater power to the team.
《Shonan - Bin UKISHIMA Coach Press Conference Summary》
"With a match every two days, and Tokyo having a week off before this match, I thought Tokyo would come out aggressively."
I think it was a really good game with quick transitions in both offense and defense.
In that, we were able to score at good times and prevent goals at bad times. I think today's game was the overall picture of that.
(The player who came on in the second half scored a goal, but the intention and outcome of the substitution)
"At the end of the first half, we were pushed back quite a bit and couldn't get to the ball, and our line was constantly dropping back.
It was clear that if the same situation occurred early in the second half, it would not turn into our game.
In that sense, I wanted to bring out more aggression with the substitutions of those two players.
(We won the first match. Heading into the second match)
"Since the outcome is based on both matches, in that sense, we have only completed half. We won today's match, but I believe Tokyo will come at us with their full squad and their best effort in the second match.
As the reigning champions from last year, I believe they will show that kind of determination, so I want to approach the next match with a mindset to bounce back in that regard.
