[To all fans and supporters] Regarding Takefusa KUBO's transfer

Thank you very much for your always passionate support.

First of all, I would like to apologize to all the fans and supporters for the timing of the official announcement being preceded by some media outlets and coinciding with the timing before the official match.

Takefusa KUBO's complete transfer to Real Madrid has been decided. As a club, we had a strong desire for him to fight with us in Tokyo and raise the trophy together, but this is the result that has been reached.
As you can see from his performance so far this season, Kubo has become a player who represents Japan and has great potential. We hope that he will continue to grow as a club and become a player who represents the world, leading the Japanese soccer world. We also ask for your continued support for Kubo in the future.

Here, we would like to once again report to our fans and supporters about the details of this transfer.
Kubo joined FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi from FC Barcelona in May 2015. This was partly due to circumstances at his previous club, but he chose FC Tokyo as a step in his growth. From the time of his joining, Kubo had a strong desire to play overseas, and his contract with the club was until he turned 18, when he would reassess that possibility. (He was an amateur at the time, and his professional contract began in 2017)
Then, in June 2019, when he turned 18, FC Tokyo naturally offered him a contract, but he also received offers from multiple other clubs, including some of the biggest clubs in the world. I have heard that he wanted to stay and contribute to FC Tokyo's championship this season, based on the team's current situation and his own sense of growth. However, in the end, he chose to join Real Madrid, one of the top clubs in the world.

The season is still ongoing. Our goal of "aiming for a strong and beloved team" remains unchanged. We will continue to fight as one team, including the coach, players, and staff, with the desire to win the title and share the joy with our fans and supporters. "This year, finally" is our motto from now on.

Finally, we would like to create an opportunity for Kubo to greet his fans and supporters. However, this will depend on Kubo's schedule in the future, so we will inform you as soon as it is decided.

Thank you for your continued support and warm cheers.
