[To all fans and supporters] Regarding Takefusa KUBO's transfer

Thank you very much for your always passionate support.

First of all, we apologize to our fans and supporters for the fact that some media outlets reported on this transfer announcement ahead of time and that it coincided with the timing before the official match.

It has been decided that Takefusa KUBO will transfer completely to Real Madrid. As a club, we had a strong desire for him to fight together with us in Tokyo to raise the trophy, but this is the result we have come to.
Kubo's growth is evident from his performance so far this season, as he has become a representative player for Japan and continues to have great potential. As a club, we hope for his further development and that he will become a world-class player who leads Japanese football. We appreciate your continued support for Kubo.

We would like to report to the fans and supporters the details regarding this transfer.
Kubo joined FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi from FC Barcelona in May 2015. There were circumstances from his previous club, but he chose FC Tokyo as a step for his own growth. From the time he joined, Kubo had a strong desire to play overseas, and when he turned 18, the contract with the club was set to end on that day to reassess that possibility. (He was an amateur at the time, and turned professional in 2017)
Then, in June 2019, when he turned 18, FC Tokyo naturally made an offer, but he also received offers from several clubs known as big clubs worldwide. Given FC Tokyo's team situation this season and his own sense of growth, I have heard that he wanted to stay and contribute to the championship. However, in the end, he chose to join Real Madrid, one of the top clubs in the world.

The season is still ongoing. Our goal of aiming for a "strong and beloved team" remains unchanged. We will continue to fight as one team, including the coach, players, and staff, with the desire to win titles and share joy with our fans and supporters, thinking that "this is the year".

Finally, we would like to create an opportunity for player Kubo to greet the fans and supporters, but it will depend on Kubo's future schedule, so we will report as soon as it is decided.

Thank you for your continued enthusiastic support.
