Game Rules

(1)32 teams will be divided into 8 groups from A to H, and the group stage will be held. The top 2 teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage.

(2) The rules are based on the Football Competition Rules 2023/24 issued by the Japan Football Association.

(3) The match time for the group stage is 70 minutes (with a 10-minute halftime), and for the knockout stage it is 80 minutes (with a 15-minute halftime). In the group stage, if the result is not determined within the allotted time, it will be considered a draw. However, in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals, if the result is not determined within the allotted time, it will be decided by a penalty kick. In the semifinals and finals, a 20-minute extension will be played after a 5-minute break, and if the result is still not determined, it will be decided by a penalty kick.

(4) The ranking of each group's league matches shall be determined as follows.
Points are calculated as follows: Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 points. The team with the most points will be ranked higher.
The team with a higher goal difference will be ranked higher if they have the same number of points.
If the goal difference is the same, the team with more goals will be ranked higher.
If the scores are the same at ③, the result will be determined by the match results between the two teams. In case of a tie, a lottery will be held. (A preliminary lottery and a main lottery will be conducted. The preliminary lottery will be drawn from the top row of the group league star table.)

(5) Teams advancing to the knockout stage
Group I) A total of 16 teams, consisting of the top two teams from each group, will advance to the knockout stage.
GroupThe knockout stage draw will be conducted by the tournament organizing committee. The draw method will separate the 1st and 2nd place teams and conduct a free draw. (To avoid the same group until R8)
H)There will be no 3rd place match, and the teams that were eliminated in the semifinals will be considered 3rd place.


(6) Warnings and Disqualifications
A) During the tournament, players who have accumulated 2 warnings will not be able to participate in the next match. Players who have been disqualified will also not be able to participate in the next match.
Group Stage Warnings received during the quarterfinals will not carry over to the semifinals. However, if a suspension from the group stage has not been served, it will carry over and be applied during the semifinals.
Example: Players who receive their second warning in the quarterfinals will not be able to participate in the semifinal round.
H) Decisions regarding subsequent measures will be made by the Tournament Discipline and Fair Play Committee.
