[Yuto Horigome Player Profile]
Born on January 7, 1999 in Tokyo.
Started skateboarding at the age of 6 due to the influence of his father, who was a skater, and consistently ranked high in domestic competitions from his early teens. Although he had extensive experience overseas, he made a full-fledged move to the United States after graduating from high school. In 2017, he achieved the remarkable feat of earning a spot in the Street League, the world's top skateboarding competition. From his first participation, he immediately started winning podium finishes. In 2018, he achieved his first victory and quickly became one of the world's top players. In 2019, he became the first Japanese to win the XGAMES in Minneapolis in the same event and won the Street League in Los Angeles. He also finished as the runner-up in the World Championships. In 2021, he avenged himself by winning the World Championships and became the first gold medalist in the men's street skateboarding event at the Tokyo Olympics.
