About "Easy Japanese"
"Easy Japanese" refers to simplified Japanese that is easy for foreigners to understand. The number of foreigners living in Tokyo is increasing, with about 650,000 people as of January 2021, and their nationalities are becoming more diverse. In order to realize a multicultural society where Japanese and foreigners live and thrive together in their communities, it is important to use "Easy Japanese" to communicate with each other while bridging the gap. "Easy Japanese" is also being used in various fields such as government and daily news dissemination as an effective tool for communication not only with foreigners, but also with children, elderly, and people with disabilities.
