[Report] Turning the Sustainability Strategy into "Action": Media Roundtable Held with Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Partner Companies
On Thursday, July 30, FC Tokyo held a media roundtable on FC Tokyo's sustainability at Shibuya Scramble Square.
On the day, we invited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Mitsui Fudosan Residential Co., Ltd., and Keio Corporation to exchange views on FC Tokyo's sustainability strategy and future initiatives, behavior change through sports, and collaboration with companies and government.
From "Policy" to "Action" in Sustainability
Under the social statement "Goals connected to the future of our lives," FC Tokyo has identified five key materialities to focus on: "Personal Growth," "Health," "DE&I," "Community Revitalization," and "Environment."
At the roundtable, we explained the concept of developing "NO PLANET, NO TOKYO (NPNT)", which unites FC Tokyo's social and environmental activities, as a platform for co-creating value throughout the year.
We also announced that the 26/27 season will be positioned as a season to translate sustainability policies into concrete actions in the city of Tokyo, visualize the results, and connect them to the next co-creation.
Collaboration with Companies and Government for Changes in the City of Tokyo
In the exchange of opinions, based on each party's initiatives, we discussed how to leverage the connections that sports clubs have with local communities and fans/supporters to promote environmentally conscious actions and sustainable lifestyles.
Going forward, we will collaborate with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, partner companies, local organizations, and fans and supporters to carry out actions at various venues such as home games, local communities, and schools.
