"To all FC Tokyo fans and supporters.
I have decided to transfer to Kashiwa Reysol.
I wasn’t a born-and-raised blue-and-red warrior when I came to Tokyo, but I truly came to love the club called Tokyo, and the “blue and red” inside me became deeper and more precious.
Looking back, I have countless memories.
Although I scored two goals in the match against Verdy and was called the 'Derby Man,' I haven't been able to score any goals in Tokyo V matches since then. The moment we caught up to 2-2 became the highlight of my time at Tokyo. I regret that I was always playing away and couldn't run to the fans at home in Ajinomoto after scoring. Since joining, I haven't been able to contribute to winning any team titles, and I strongly feel my own shortcomings and lack of ability.
Even so, after coming to Tokyo, I was able to meet many wonderful teammates and staff members. Thank you very much for dealing well with me, who was cheeky and always complaining. I looked forward to going to practice every day, and the time spent with everyone was truly enjoyable.
There were many talented and wonderful players in Tokyo.
Players who run for the team more than I do, and when they have the ball, the stadium erupts. The training environment to catch up to and surpass them was very enjoyable and so fulfilling that it was exhausting.
"Stagnation is regression" — words that Coach Matsuhashi has taught me since my youth days.
As a player, I always felt a sense of urgency that things couldn’t continue as they were when thinking about my future. After coming to Tokyo, I played in a fair number of matches, built some relationships, and established my position as a player, but perhaps I became complacent with that. This is an issue that could be resolved by changing myself rather than the environment, and I have no intention of saying something idealistic like 'to grow.'
I believe that the greatness and difficulty of continuing to play for a single club for a long time, like Keigo HIGASHI and Masato MORISHIGE, and constantly overcoming new challenges and struggles within the same club, is surely something precious.
Therefore, I think there will be times when this decision is not understood, but whether it becomes the right choice depends on me, so I have decided to push forward on the path I have chosen.
It may be my own assumption, but I feel that I was able to play at Ajinomoto while receiving a lot of love. Thank you very much for all the affection and love.
I will forever cherish having met all of you in my heart and will devote myself to the path I have chosen.
