On September 1st (Fri), the disciplinary committee of the Japan Football Association (JFA) has decided to penalize the club for bringing and using dangerous materials such as gunpowder in the FC Tokyo side general admission stand during the Emperor's Cup JFA 103rd All Japan Soccer Championship 3rd Round held on July 12th (Wed), 2023.
FC Tokyo takes the decision from JFA seriously and will take measures to prevent recurrence in consultation with relevant parties in order to ensure the safety of spectators, teams, and operations in future tournaments.
In addition, regarding the 4 individuals who brought and used dangerous materials such as gunpowder, JFA has issued an indefinite ban from entering (all matches held within Japan [including matches organized by the association, J League, and other leagues]) on July 28th (Friday), so the club will take appropriate measures in accordance with this punishment.
We would like to apologize deeply as a club for causing inconvenience and concern to many people.

The target audience failed to take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence and spread of damage, and to ensure the safety of spectators and players during the 3rd round match against Tokyo Verdy at Ajinomoto Stadium on July 12, 2023 (Wednesday) at the kick-off time (19:00), when multiple supporters of the target audience (hereinafter referred to as "the said supporters") used fireworks and smoke bombs for about 1 minute and 20 seconds in the same stadium (in the lower stands in the center of the supporters' goal side).
